Therapy in Illinois
I am licensed in the state of Illinois.
insurance information:
I’m in-network with BCBS PPO and BCBS Blue Choice PPO.
To check your specific policy, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask for details on mental health coverage. The CPT codes I use most frequently are 90791 and 90837.
therapy fees:
For private-pay clients, my rates are $200 for an initial session, and $175 for each subsequent session.
If your non-BCBS PPO plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance. I’m happy to answer questions about this process!

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect during my first session?
If you’ve never tried therapy before, this can be daunting! In an initial session with me, first I’ll cover some important guidelines about working with a therapist. After all, the therapeutic relationship is unique compared to all other relationships in your life! Then, I’ll invite you to talk about what brings you to therapy and what changes you’d like to experience as a result of our work together. I’ll reflect back what I’m understanding about your circumstances and goals, and then we’ll schedule the next appointment if you feel ready to.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
I do not currently see clients on Saturdays or Sundays. I have limited evening hours on Mondays and Tuesdays. These evening spots are in high demand.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans, as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Choice PPO. I am not in-network with HMO plans. If you are using insurance, I will file a claim for each session, and charge your credit card on file for any client responsibility amount after the claim is processed by your insurance.
What are your fees?
For an initial session, my private pay rate is $200. For each subsequent session, the private pay rate is $175.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes! I meet with clients virtually over telehealth as well as in-person in the western Chicago suburb of Wheaton, IL.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
Yes! I meet with clients in-person in the western Chicago suburb of Wheaton, IL. Please note my office is not ADA accessible: a flight of stairs is required for entry.
What types of therapies do you offer?
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, using concepts from different psychotherapy theories. These therapy approaches include The Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. I don’t consider myself the expert on your life - you are! Even if you don’t feel like it, you are the expert on you. I work to help you feel that way!
What issues do you specialize in?
I work most frequently with couples who are not getting along (communication issues or healing from various relationship betrayals) and with anxious individuals.
What is your session format?
Sessions run for the “therapeutic hour” which is technically 53-55 minutes long. Don’t worry, it’s my job to manage the timing and wrap things up at the right time. I typically schedule meetings on the hour.
What types of marriages or couples do you work with?
I work with couples anywhere from dating/considering moving to the next level to married for decades and navigating life transitions together. I work with couples navigating the transition into parenthood. I work with same-sex marriages and interfaith marriages and premarital couples. I also work with couples exploring consensual nonmonogamy, and diverse relationship structures.
How long do I need to be in a relationship to be considered a couple?
No specific length of time - if you and your partner are committed to mutual growth and looking to invest in your relationship, you may be ready for couples therapy.
Are you LGBTQIA friendly?
Yes! I work with same-sex couples, and also individuals who are exploring their gender identity and expression.
Do you see parents and kids?
While I don’t typically see minors, I welcome parents with emerging adult children, or adult children.
